About
Nanoloom is pioneering a new era in textiles with revolutionary graphene-based stretch fibre. The fibre is part bio, part synthetic, fully recyclable, biodegradable under specific conditions in landfill and seawater, and designed to seamlessly integrate into existing textile production processes. Nanoloom is committed to reducing environmental impact through lower CO₂ emissions, reduced water usage, and eliminating microplastic pollution, but above all is fully circular, meaning it's easily recycled and micro-plastic free. The advanced material offers unmatched performance, including conductivity, customisable hydrophobicity, natural antimicrobial properties, and exceptional thermal qualities.
As the Creative Director and Textile Engineer at Nanoloom, I am tasked with driving the creative vision and material innovation for our groundbreaking graphene-based fibre technology. My role involves leading the design and development of textiles, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and technical standards. Working closely with the lab chemists and textiles team to explore new applications for our fibre, from fashion and sportswear to advanced material solutions. My focus is on blending creativity with sustainability, contributing to Nanoloom’s mission of revolutionizing the textile industry with environmentally responsible alternatives.
I developed a unique creative concept that seamlessly fuses the vibrant energy of disco and the bold, graphic aesthetics of pop art with a contemporary twist on videography. This concept captures the exuberant spirit of the disco era, its rhythmic movement, playful glamour, and infectious energy—while integrating the vivid colors and sharp contrasts characteristic of pop art.
By incorporating a modern approach to videography, I aimed to evoke the nostalgic charm of vintage film photography, blending soft grain, natural light flares, and rich, saturated tones with a fresh and dynamic visual storytelling style. This fusion creates a captivating experience where retro inspiration meets modern innovation, celebrating timeless aesthetics while presenting them through a forward-thinking lens.
The resulting visuals are dynamic and expressive, perfectly aligning with Nanoloom’s ethos of combining cutting-edge material science with bold, imaginative design. This approach not only highlights the versatility of the revolutionary graphene-based fibre but also reinforces the brand's vision of leading the way in out-of-the-box thinking 📦
